Week 2 flew by, wow. This week was another great learning experience. In the training session on Monday, we were reminded that every experience that we have, is for a reason and we can takeaway from each experience a little something that helps us become who we really are and reach our full potential. Also, how important it is to focus on the positive, especially when it feels like everything in your life is just going wrong, and that message really spoke to me, because sometimes I really struggle with that. I can't remember if this was a direct quote or not, but I have " What I'm experiencing is only part of my journey.", and to me, that was one of the most meaningful things I've ever heard, I'm actually putting that on my vision board. Another great lesson we got this week was about having a growth mindset versus a fixed mindset, which also, really got through to me, and we got some tips on how to be a better public speaker.
This week at work, I started my second task, which was creating a market research survey, to get to know more about potential customers. Again, I got to apply the knowledge I got from school, to this job. The analysis is to be completed next week using a program I've never used before which is said to make the analysis easier, so I'm very excited to learn more about that. Once I was finished my survey, I started on my week 7 task, (Yes, week 7. Seems so far, but that's going to be here in a flash too) which is creating a sales script for a label writer. So I'm learning about salesmanship and I'm a bit nervous about this assignment, since it involves actually having to interact with strangers and try to sell them this item, or at least get them interested. That's way out of my comfort zone, but I'm still looking forward to the experience and hopefully that helps with my confidence when speaking to others.
Well, that was my week, Let's see what Week 3 has in store for me!
