Week 4-Getting to Know Me

This week started from Wednesday, so it was straight into work after those wonderful 4 days off. I was working on creating offers, selecting a social media platform, creating a theme for existing products and deploying to the social media platform. The most difficult part for me is coming up with original, creative ideas when it comes to marketing. It feels like it doesn't come naturally, but hopefully by the end of the programme, I could start getting the hang of it.  For the social media platform, I am working on content for the existing Facebook page of The POS People and I launched an Instagram page for the evolution of The POS People to ZoneX. Again, I'm learning so much about what it takes in marketing; how every photo you choose, words you use, name you go with is a strategic move when it comes to business, especially in retail. So this weekend I'll be still working on content for these pages as well as some of my other assignments for the remaining weeks.
On Friday, our seminar delivered by Mr. Errol Griffith, resonated with me on a spiritual level. Sometimes I struggle with self control and dealing with the fact that I lack control in so many other things in my life. But today, when he spoke about the "Power of Choice", I truly understood that the only thing/person that I can ever control in this world, is me. No one else is responsible for my emotions, my attitude, my success. And he spoke a lot about how God also helped him through this journey. Even though I'm not particularly a religious person, I still believe in God, and the conversation he engaged all of the interns in prompted me to work more on my spirituality and becoming closer to God and also take full responsibility of my actions.
Many of the themes he spoke of were reiterated from past speakers such as planning ahead, responsibility for oneself and believing in yourself. If I could only take away one thing from today, it would be to live to my full potential, find out what I want, what I truly want, and go for it. Make a plan, set aside excuses and just go for it. I just love how everything in the programme is coming together to deliver these messages.
Again, looking forward to next week!
