So it begins:
I'm terrible at this sort of stuff so please forgive me lol. Alright where to start. I think I made the right choice deciding to switch my placement the first week working at Datalore Inc. was, to basically sum it up, quiet. Ok for real though it was a really really nice experience and it's the type of work environment I favour, not a lot of people, everyone doing their own, nice quiet little office nook sort of thing. I'm partnered with Dylana, pretty darn solid, awesome person to work with really glad we're working together. I'm currently working under Jennifer Miller who deals with the more technical side of the business while Dylana is working under Erica Hinkson who is in charge of the marketing aspect of the business and she is also the daughter of the CEO Beverly Smith-Hinkson.
So yea I got a bit lost trying to find the place but I wasn't late thankfully the would not have been a good first impression. On Monday Erica gave us some history and information about the business, how it started, what they do stuff like that. Then later on we had a little meeting with the CEO so she could get to know us and vice versa and then we were pretty much put to work. Dylana took it upon herself to start up and manage an instagram page for the business to improve promotion no get the word out there. Her goal is to have 1000 followers by the end of it all, it's slow going but I know she's got it covered. As for me I was given the task of looking over their websites to see if there could be anything that they could improve on and also I offered to make a program to make their lives a little easier when it comes to storing data so I planned that out as well.
Tuesday rolls around so I stayed home, didn't do much so next day!
It's Wednesday and I get to work on my program, headphones on, music bumping going to town doing my thing. The occasional pauses to chat with Dylana and the others in the office so it never gets boring which is great. It probably won't ever get boring ever with Dylana around, some sort of discussion usually starts up at some point during the day about something or the other so I'm kinda paying attention but not because I'm focused on what I'm doing 😂. It's nice having someone like that around, I can say for certain that when she's not there its a lot quieter which I don't mind. So yeah got through more or less half the program I was doing and I was feeling good.
Thursday is the day that I finished it! It was received well by Jennifer but she couldn't see it being implemented as there were some things that you needed to be mindful of that someone who doesn't program would know so that was put on hold. I was grateful for the opportunity though cuz it showed them how quick I work and also the quality of my work so I still felt good about it regardless. I was then given the task of going through an excel document and getting rid of any duplicates that I come across which would be boring to some but I was ok with it. Erica and Dylana were out doing things so the office was pretty quiet and she got KFC....I was a little envious.
Friday was the best day of the week for me for a couple of reasons, not because the weekend was almost upon us lol. First off Jason, another person who works there whom I forgot to mention, told Dylana and myself a little about the two years he spent in India which was a very very interesting story indeed. Then later on in the evening when things are winding down Dylana has already left by this point and Jason says that everyone knows a lot about Dylana because being the social person she is, she talk a lot so you learn a lot about her but they haven't really gotten to know me like how they know Dylana. So I tell them a little bit more about myself including that I play video games which lead to me and Jason talking about video games for about an hour or so which was awesome. Then when the day is more or less over Erica suggest that we play a quiz game to test our knowledge of random things we may or may it know which was a lot of fun. Sorry Dylana you missed out on a jolly good time 🙃.
I can say for sure that after the first week I am a lot more comfortable working there not that I was uncomfortable really but you get what I mean. I really like working there, the atmosphere is a nice balance of work and talking with each other, it's quiet and my colleagues are really great people. I know three weeks is quite a bit of time but I know it's going to go by really quickly but I'll make sure that I enjoy the rest of my time working at Datalore Inc.

Damn, that game sounds good lol
Don't have too much fun without me guys ;) Jk lol
Kibwe is a cool dude who has brought not just an efficient (and quiet) work ethic to our office, but also a level-headed approach to problem solving. Jenifer has given him some complex tasks and he has always been up to the task. Both Kibwe and Dylana have become welcome additions to the team and have increased efficiency for both the Marketing team and the Technical team. I may not technically work in either of these departments, but I do enjoy the conversations and the extra brain-power. I look forward to seeing what else the two of them end up doing.

Kibwe is highly professional, intelligent, and respectful; he fits well with our company culture. Although quiet as Jason would have mentioned, when given the opportunity to express his thoughts on computers, science, psychology, and philosophy, Kibwe is brilliant. He is resourceful, forward thinking, and proposes his own ideas; key attributes that we look for in our company. This can be seen through his experimentation in implementing his own computer programming technology into our existing databases, in order to make our processes easier. Not only does Kibwe complete the tasks assigned by his mentor Jenifer, but he also completes self-assigned tasks which are truly beneficial to our company. It is a pleasure to include Kibwe in our DataLore Inc. family.
Best regards,
