Working Hard Always Works

This is actually a late article about last week, nevertheless, it's here.

Last week was very informative, the week started out with a bank holiday where there was nothing for me to do at home but wait anxiously for the next day and complete any outstanding task.

Tuesday was the next day and it started out kind of wrong, with me going to a different location than where I should have gone. However, that day was truly a blast as Ranako and I met many different persons in many different entrepreneurial fields. We learned how to pitch ideas to investors, how to capture attention from the first sentence and was then challenged by our employer to better our networking skills by speaking to the entrepreneurs around us and collecting their personal information.

We did not get everyone, but the few who we did get the opportunity to speak with, were very pleasant and responded to our questions with positive and impactful answers. It was truly an honor to be around persons of that stature.

That seminar as well as last week prepared me for our next upcoming challenge, which we did for the rest of the week.

Cold Calling!!!

We had practiced doing it, but applying the knowledge that we had stuffed into our packed brains wasn't as easy as it seemed. We went through our first day, and not one confirmed appointment. It was a daunting thought, yet it motivated us to do better, to be better. So in that one night span, we became the better that we had sought to be, because on the next day, even though we only had two confirmed meetings, we did better than the day before.

All in all, hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard and there is no motivation to work hard like the feeling of failure, but we didn't take it personal as such is life.

Working hard always works, as we found out on the second day of cold calling, we rectified the areas that we went wrong in and sought to improve the areas that needed improvement. It was not an easy task calling a random person and asking them if they wanted to have a meet with us about a service that many persons didn't think they wanted or was necessary, but we did it, we did not always succeed, but we continued to do it and we shall continue again today because the worst thing that you can do with failure is to accept it, which we won't as we already know that perseverance and hard work is key.
