So the next couple of weeks were the most stressful, reason being that I was finally put into my placement SEED. Now unfortunately, SEED had to no facilities for us to be in so we had to be home base. I didn't really like working from home but there was no choice.
So for a while we were communicating with our host through whatsapp. But in order to communicate with her face to face she told us to download an app called Zoom which was used for business meetings etc. So then we had our first meeting over the computer where she told us what was our projects to complete. She told us we had to create an elevator pitch telling the company about SEED. And also a presentation about SEED in more detail so that they can have a better understanding on what we do. This was a challenge for my group being that we knew little to nothing about the organization and had to research all the information needed for our strip and it took longer get that expected. So we came together either on the phone on at the library to come up with a good elevator pitch, one that would make the company that we call want to know more. Then we would either direct them to our website for more information or ask them to come to there company and present about SEED to them. However, after some time we got it done.
Now, it was time to work on the presentation, this one was more challenging because we had to research everything and put it into the presentation. We had to pick out all the vital information that was needed to get the company on board with SEED. So what made it even more challenging was the fact that we had to meet up or talk over the phone which was very inconvenient. But needless to say we got it done but not with in the time frame. So what our host did was she suggested that we do the presentation over a voice note that would then be put into group 2's video that they working on, which I thought was very smart.
So in closing I would like to say that this experience with my placement really give me insight as to how it would be in the world of work and to always be prepared and ready for any unexpected tasks giving. Also, how important it is to manage your time. But aside from all the work it was nice to meet new people and make friends. So in all I think this programme helped me professional, personal and social and will help me in my future endevoures.
