Chance Encounters are Opportunities in Disguise :)
Last week (week four) was the busiest week to date, and I say that knowing that the POS people team are always hard at work. It was phones ringing every five seconds and clients to be had. Presentations being scheduled for SEED and opportunities to be taken. And interestingly enough no matter how busy the headquarters get, it never gets chaotic, a little noisy but overall I get pumped up when everyone is doing their thing. I’m constantly learning something new and this week it was to be respectful and transform encounters with persons into a fruitful prospects.
I had the opportunity to sit with KlipXtreme rep Adolfo Penaloza, he would have given us more incite into the Klip brand. Klip is all about attitude…you feel young so you are young and satisfying the need for fun , freedom and liberation is what the company wants to communicate to customers and embody in their product line. It was amazing to see a business meeting taking place, I say that because the Mr.Penzola had two different pitches he was directing at  two different organisations at two separate parties. It was truly educational, he had a plan and he executed it effectively. He told us (Mr. Watson, Ms. Mapp-Watson and I)  about the KLIPX products then he found out about what else the POS People was involved in and then changed gears and pitched another product; he made it look almost as easy as breathing. I want the necessary experience to do business like taking a breathe. Overall Mr. Penzola helped me to better understand the brand and changed my views, perspectives and improved my overall presentation. I’m currently adding the finishing touches to my presentation for the big reveal Wednesday.
My presentation analysis had to have a market survey to assess the potential market and this is vital when creating a feasible marketing strategy, findings and recommendations. My market survey was officially released online and if I had known that adobe formscentral could have helped me to work smarter in terms of gathering information quickly my SBA’s would have been done quite ahead of  the deadline. When getting persons to complete the questionnaire I turned to Facebook. Don’t underestimate the reach Facebook has;  people LOVE Facebook and I have to admit it is changing how persons communicate thus telling persons about the questionnaire was easy. I have to say thank you again to all who completed my questionnaire. When results are gathered, Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) was used but be forewarned it is tedious but produces graphs that reflect the information effectively. I hope Social Studies, Geophraphy and any other students who know they need  to develop a questionnaire to analyse their thesis/problem statement when completing their SBA’s are reading this. However the one drawback that is encountered when using adobe fromscentral is that the maximum number of questionnaires that can be sent is 50 and I think you only get to create one questionnaire but have that is a small issue; just create a new account to get over that particular hump. Having said that, Good Luck to those doing CXC’s this year. YES… I am still enjoying this internship and YES… I plan on learning more and putting what I have learnt to good use.
